Wannasaen took control of the tournament by going 6 under in a five-hole stretch on the front nine Sunday on the way to a final-round 63 and a tournament-record 26 under par at Columbia Edgewater. The result came out of nowhere, as Wannasaen had missed nine consecutive LPGA cuts and had not finished better than 51st in a tour event this year.
