In the span of just two months, Wintrust Sports Complex in Bedford Park, IL, has hosted two premier jiu-jitsu tournaments, marking a major milestone in our facility’s growing reputation as a hub for combat and mat sports. This summer, we proudly welcomed the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) in August, followed by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) Chicago Open in September. Both events attracted a broad range of athletes, bringing an unparalleled level of excitement and showcasing some of the top jiu-jitsu talent in the country.

The Frisco City Council approved a $182 million public-private partnership with FC Dallas to renovate Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The renovation, which will begin in 2025, will enhance the guest experience by integrating innovative designs, cutting-edge audio/visual technology and a variety of fan-first amenities at Major League Soccer’s third-oldest soccer-specific venue which has also been home to Frisco ISD athletic events since 2005.

The Center has invested in 45 new pickleball courts. “We are excited to expand the Hawai‘i Convention Center’s highly successful sports courts program this year to include pickleball – a sport that has grown 60 percent in the past 5 years,” said Teri Orton, General Manager of the Hawai‘i Convention Center. “Our new premium pickleball rollout mat courts play just like championship outdoor pickleball courts.”

The Chicago Sky has officially announced plans to construct a brand-new, state-of-the-art practice facility right next door to Wintrust Sports Complex, further strengthening our growing sports hub in Bedford Park. In partnership with the Village of Bedford Park, the groundbreaking for this exciting project will take place this fall, with the facility slated for completion by December 2025. This cutting-edge complex will be located just 11 miles from the Sky’s home court at Wintrust Arena, a significant improvement from their current facility, which is nearly 30 miles away and shared with local residents, students, and various organizations.
