This summer, we proudly welcomed the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) in August, followed by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) Chicago Open in September. The Chicago Sky has officially announced plans to construct a brand-new, state-of-the-art practice facility right next door to Wintrust Sports Complex, further strengthening our growing sports hub in Bedford Park. In partnership with the Village of Bedford Park, the groundbreaking for this exciting project will take place this fall, with the facility slated for completion by December 2025. This cutting-edge complex will be located just 11 miles from the Sky’s home court at Wintrust Arena, a significant improvement from their current facility, which is nearly 30 miles away and shared with local residents, students, and various organizations.

Earlier this summer, the Wintrust Sports Complex was proud to host the prestigious Under Armour Association (UAA) Finals. This massive, championship event served as the pinnacle of a yearlong league-style circuit, bringing together the nation’s top high school boys’ basketball teams at the 17U and 16U levels. Two teams were ultimately crowned UAA Champions: Team Thrill (17U) and KC Run GMC (16U).
