Oklahoma State and Northwestern will meet in the Tulsa Hoops Showdown presented by Visit Tulsa on Dec. 20 at BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., completing the second leg of a two-year scheduling agreement between the programs.

Tip time and broadcast information will be announced at a later date. Tickets for the Tulsa Hoops Showdown presented by Visit Tulsa are scheduled to go on sale Oct. 22, with a one-day presale set for Oct. 21. The Cowboys and Wildcats met last season at the United Center, a tight contest won by Oklahoma State, 86-81. December’s contest will be just the second all-time meeting between the programs.

Intersport, a Chicago-based sports marketing and event management agency, will handle the event’s operations.

Oklahoma State, which will be playing this game about one hour from their campus venue in Stillwater, begins its third season with Steve Lutz as the program’s head coach. Lutz has guided the Cowboys to consecutive postseason appearances in his first two years with the program, with last season’s campaign highlighted by signature wins over NCAA Tournament teams Texas A&M, BYU and UCF (twice). Ten newcomers are expected to contribute immediately for the program, including high-major transfers Luka Bogavac (North Carolina), Jordan Burks (UCF), Andrija Grbovic (Arizona State) and Julius Halaifonua (Georgetown) and Sam Houston transfers Kashie Natt and Jacob Walker, who were named C-USA Defensive Player of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year, respectively.

Northwestern is entering its 14th season under head coach Chris Collins, who has established a winning pedigree with the Wildcats. The program earned consecutive NCAA Tournament berths in 2023 and 2024, advancing to the second round each season. Eleven newcomers, join the Wildcat program for the 2026-27 season, including a pair of overseas prospects and six transfers from other Division I programs. Five of those players, Okku Federiko (Drake), Jack Karasinski (Bellarmine), Luke McEldon (Mount St. Mary’s), LA Pratt (Northeastern) and Colin Smith (UC Santa Barbara) were regular starters with their prior programs and bring a wealth of experience to the Wildcat roster.
