In this special episode of The Playeasy Warmup, Kerri sat down with Scott Burchett, General Manager of the Frisco RoughRiders, to talk about how Riders Field has grown into far more than a baseball stadium – welcoming nearly a million visitors a year across just 69 home games.

The conversation covered what Burchett calls the “memory-making business”: the thinking behind the ballpark’s signature Lazy River, the addition of Banana Ball and Cosmic Baseball to the event calendar, and the broader push to keep Riders Field active with community events well beyond the regular season. Burchett walked through how the RoughRiders approach innovation – treating the ballpark less as a single-purpose venue and more as a platform for new kinds of fan experiences.

He also spoke to the role collaboration has played in that growth, crediting Visit Frisco and partners across the city for helping bring new events and new audiences to the ballpark. Burchett described Frisco’s sports and tourism ecosystem as a genuine partnership – one where the ballpark’s success is tied to the city’s broader ability to host and grow events.
