During the month of July, the Stevens Point Area is home to the world’s largest goalkeeper camp, Camp Shutout. The 2026 event took over every inch of the 30-acre Portage County Youth Soccer Complex two weeks earlier this month. During this year’s event, the Stevens Point area welcomed 900+ campers and staff from 46 states.

Throughout the week, goalkeepers sharpened their skills in ball handling, extension diving, low diving and angle play, cross management, distribution, and breakaways.

Camp Shutout Founder Stan Anderson shared his thoughts on why the Stevens Point Area continues to serve as the camp’s home:

“There are reasons we choose Stevens Point… The hospitality, the lodging, the grass fields, the local restaurants, the nearby airport and many more things make up Stevens Point, it started with a Camp Shutout Road Show with Eric Wiberg (30–50 GKs), and now it’s grown to two weeks, hundreds of hotel rooms, and additional programming between weeks. We, our GKs, and staff are very happy and grateful for the people in Point!”

In addition to bringing visitors to the area, Camp Shutout (also known as #GKunion) gives back to the soccer community through charitable donations. This year, the organization made its largest contribution to date, donating $5,000 to TOPSoccer and $2,000 to the local Portage County Youth Soccer program.

Camp Shutout is the premier training experience for goalkeepers at every stage, from first-year high school players to incoming college athletes. Through its Advanced Sessions, campers quickly refine core techniques while developing the high-level skills needed to compete at the club, high school, collegiate, and even professional levels. For athletes who are serious about goalkeeping, Camp Shutout provides the training and instruction to help them reach the next level.
