11 PW All American Alumni get the 2026 MLB Draft Call

The 2026 MLB Draft was another proud weekend for Prospect Wire, as 11 former PW All Americans heard their names called and took the next step in their baseball careers.

The PW All American Weekend has long been one of the premier events on the Prospect Wire calendar, bringing together high-level players from across the country and giving them an opportunity to compete, develop, gain exposure and build toward their future.

This year’s draft class once again showed the long-term impact of the event.

2026 MLB Draft Selections | Former PW All Americans

Zion Rose | University of Louisville

Drew Burress | Georgia Tech

Kaden Waechter | Jesuit HS

Wes Mendes | Florida State University

Kevin Roberts Jr. | Jackson Prep (HS)

Dondreone Kennedy | Kansas State University

Beau Peterson | Mill Valley (HS)

Will Gasparino | UCLA

Cody Boshell | Bishop John Snyder (HS)

Braden Holcomb | Vanderbilt University

Michael Petite | Virginia Commonwealth

For Prospect Wire, the draft is always a reminder of what the All American Weekend represents. The event is not just about one weekend. It is about identifying talented players, giving them a platform and watching their journeys continue through high school, college baseball and, for many, professional baseball.

The 2019 PW All American class has now had 9 players selected in the MLB Draft, including Bryce Eldridge, who is currently a starter for the San Francisco Giants. The 2021 class, which followed the canceled 2020 event due to COVID, has now had 6 players drafted.

“The MLB Draft is always a special weekend for us because it gives us a chance to look back and appreciate the players who came through our All American Weekend. So many of these guys went on to have outstanding college careers, and now they are getting the opportunity to continue their careers professionally. That is what this event has always been about — bringing talented players together, giving them a platform and watching where the game takes them. We are so fortunate to get a brief opportunity in these player’s careers to spend time with them up close. We celebrate them every step of the way in life.”

— Brian Werner, President, Prospect Wire

Over the years, the PW All American Weekend has been hosted at premier baseball venues across the country, including UNLV, USF, Cal State Fullerton, Vanderbilt, TCU and Texas. This year, the event heads to the University of Tennessee, where more than 95 players are expected to attend.

Many of those players will arrive with the same goals as the names listed above: to become Division I athletes, to continue growing in the game and, one day, to hear their own names called in the MLB Draft.

Congratulations to all 11 former PW All Americans selected in the 2026 MLB Draft. We are proud to have been a small part of your journey and excited to watch what comes next.
