2026 Southeast Championships – Event Recap

Prospect Wire wrapped up the 2026 Southeast Championships yesterday in Palm Beach, Florida, continuing the tradition of our longest-running event, which has taken place every year since 2009.

This year’s event brought more than 40 teams to the Palm Beach area, with games played at CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches, the spring training home of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. The event featured four divisions: 13U, 14U, Underclass 15U/16U and Upperclass 17U/18U.

CACTI Park continues to be one of the premier venues on the Prospect Wire schedule, giving teams the opportunity to compete in a professional-level spring training environment while also enjoying everything the Palm Beach destination has to offer.

In the 13U Division, USA Scout Team Nike Select added another championship to its 2026 resume with a dominant 19-0 win over Kings National in the final.

In the 14U Division, #5 seed Elev8 Academy took down #2 seed IS Elite Santiago, 7-2, to capture the championship. The title marked Elev8 Academy’s first Prospect Wire championship in a few years.

In the Underclass Division, which combined 15U and 16U teams, #4 seed PBC PAL put together an impressive championship run. PBC PAL won three straight games in bracket play, allowing only two total runs, before defeating #2 seed Top Tier EC Scout, a 16U team, 3-1 in the final. The championship marked PBC PAL’s 3rd overall Prospect Wire title.

In the Upperclass Division, which combined 17U and 18U teams, the top-seeded Vipers Baseball Club 17U defeated #2 seed Grit Fusion, 3-2, in a rain-shortened championship game. Grit Fusion had taken the lead in the top of the final inning, but weather forced the game to end and the score reverted back to the last completed inning, giving Vipers Baseball Club the championship. It was Vipers’ 8th Prospect Wire championship, placing them 4th overall on the Prospect Wire championship leaderboard.

“The Southeast Championships is a special event for Prospect Wire because of the history behind it. To have an event run every year since 2009 says a lot about the teams, the destination and the facilities that have helped it grow. CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches gives our teams an incredible environment to play in, and Palm Beach continues to be one of the best destinations we work with each year.”

— Brian Werner, President, Prospect Wire

“Events like the Southeast Championships are a great example of the impact sports tourism can have in Palm Beach County. Bringing more than 40 teams and families into the area creates meaningful economic activity for our hotels, restaurants and local businesses, while also showcasing Palm Beach as a premier baseball destination.”

— Palm Beach Sports Commission

With an estimated economic impact of more than $2 million, the Southeast Championships continues to be an important event for both Prospect Wire and the Palm Beach community.

Thank you to the Palm Beach Sports Commission, CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches, our participating teams, coaches, players and families for helping make the 2026 Southeast Championships another successful chapter in this event’s long history.
