Prospect Wire kicks off the Summer in Sizzling Polk County

Memorial Weekend Classic Recap | Polk County, FL

Prospect Wire opened the summer schedule this past weekend with a strong Memorial Weekend Classic in Polk County, Florida, bringing 80 teams to Central Florida for one of our biggest events of the year.

The tournament featured 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U and Upperclass 17U/18U divisions, with games played across 17 total fields at three outstanding Polk County facilities:

Northeast Regional Park in Davenport

Chain of Lakes Complex in Winter Haven

Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale

Polk County continues to be one of the most important destinations on the Prospect Wire schedule, and this weekend was another great example of why. The quality of facilities, the support from the county and the ability to host a large-scale event across multiple venues gives our teams a tremendous tournament experience.

In the Upperclass Division, 5 Star National Tampa defeated FBH Angels 17U Red out of Lakeland, 6-4, in the championship game. 5 Star won three games on Monday to claim the first 18U championship of the summer.

In the 16U Division, FBH Angels captured their 7th Prospect Wire championship with a 2-0 victory over Legacy Baseball out of Bradenton. The Angels did not allow a run on championship Monday on their way to the title.

The 15U Division saw the top-seeded AB-4 Academy face off with the Central Florida Bad Boyz in the final. The Bad Boyz scored late to earn a 4-3 victory and claim their first Prospect Wire championship.

In the 14U Gold Bracket, #2 seed Arsenal National rolled to an 11-1 championship win over #4 seed Orlando Hit & Throw. Outside of a tight 2-1 quarterfinal win, Arsenal was dominant throughout bracket play, scoring 22 runs while allowing only 4.

In the 14U Silver Bracket, #11 Divinity Academy Kingz earned an 11-1 championship victory over #13 Hype Baseball.

In the 13U Gold Bracket, #6 seed Team Orlando Colon knocked off the top-seeded Ambush Baseball, 7-5, to win the championship. Team Orlando Colon put together an impressive run, defeating three higher-seeded teams on the way to the title and earning the organization’s 7th Prospect Wire championship.

In the 13U Silver Bracket, #10 St. Pete Rough Riders defeated the Lakeland Tigers, 13-7, to claim the championship.
