Spring means championship season in Monroe-West Monroe, and athletes from across the country will be competing in several major sporting events throughout the community.

The action begins with the National Wheelchair Basketball Association Junior National Championships, taking place March 19–22, followed by the National Wheelchair Basketball Association Adult National Championships on March 26–29. These premier tournaments bring elite wheelchair basketball athletes and teams to Monroe-West Monroe to compete for national titles.

Tennis also takes center stage as the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Tennis Championships return to the area April 27–May 1. Matches will be played at both the Forsythe Tennis Complex and facilities at University of Louisiana Monroe, bringing top high school athletes from across the state to compete for championship titles.

Baseball fans can also catch postseason action during the NAIA Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Championship, set for April 30–May 3 at the Sterlington Sports Complex. The tournament will feature some of the top collegiate teams in the region battling for a conference title and a spot in the national tournament.
